Arrangements for Sunday 30th March

Please note that, due to pitch availability problems at Ampthill, we have moved Sundays U18 and U15 7s games to the Letchworth ground.

Can players please meet at the Letchworth club by 1.45pm for a 2.30pm kick-off.

Why not could come along at 1.00pm to support the Colts in their Cup quarter-final against Fullerians?

  3. Well, its Dorking next week...

I think we've only played Kettering twice - as often as Basford I think. Add in Westcliff, Worcester, Saracens, etc. and its fairly diverse.

OTOH there are auite a few games with Ampthill. but that is mainly because they are a) nearby and b) we are trying to build links with them so the more games the better - in a sense they are almost opposed training because our girls guest for them and visa versa. They have also filled in when we have had unexpected gaps due to withdrawls.

But you are not far wrong. There are - in truth - fewer clubs to play now than even two seasons ago. When we began there were more clubs in or near Hertfordshire than there are now in the entire East Region - Stevenage, Bishops Stortford, Hemel, Cheshunt, Fullers, Uttlesford to name but a few who are no more.

These were not small clusb with 2/3 girls. All of them had full teams at one age group, or both - and very few of their girls moved to other clubs when they folded (for whatever reason). Questions might usefully be asked in some quarters I think.

And south of us we are now increasingly limited as many of our "traditional" opponents now play in leagues which limits what we can do.
