Most of the rest of the time ITV tends to obsess about the football code that majors in players falling over a lot for no good reason and swearing at referees - but apparently of late the channel has recently started to notice that rugby exists outside of the four year world cup cycle (though Total Flanker is none too impressed), and the next stage of this move away from the Dark Side looks like being a series of programmes visiting grass roots clubs "with problems", a bit like Kitchen Nightmares, but with Austin Healey playing the part Gordon Ramsey.
And amazingly one of the five clubs to be featured will be a women's team - Witney Angels from Oxfordshire! The brief snippet on the website seems to indicate that it is a fairly typical women's/ girls' club, with problems over players numbers, etc. etc. so it should be worth watching.
The only slight problems are that the website does not currently say when the programme will be shown, and that the channel it will be shown on will be ITV4, a station that generally makes Men and Motors seem upmarket and mainstream. Even so, its better than nothing - which is what the BBC and Sky currently provide on the women's game...
