Rugby weather ...
Following my remarks about the very hard pitches at Dorking this year, I seemed to recollect saying something similar last year. A look at the archive revealed the following - "With the sun beating down all day and a rock hard playing surface, it was a perfect day for 7s rugby .... well, not really, but this was a superb tournament despite the obvious drawbacks noted above ....." - which just goes to show what a frequent hazard this is for rugby girls at this time of the year.
However, looking forward to the Herts 7s at Old Albanians this weekend, I turned my attention to the BBC weather forecast which makes quite interesting reading as it suggests that the pitches at OAs might be a little less hard than those at Dorking last weekend ....
Tuesday : Sunny
Tuesday night : heavy rain
Wednesday : light rain
Wednesday night : light rain
Thursday : heavy rain showers
Thursday night : heavy rain
Friday : heavy rain
Friday night : light rain
Saturday : light rain showers
Saturday night : dry
Now, if the good old BBC could just arrange for some dry weather for Sunday, that should be just perfect!
