Black and Gold becomes Blue(?)
One of the great wearers of the black and gold - indeed she wore the club's colours in more games than anyone else - may, on Saturday, win the most famous colours of all.
Nikki Alcock - in her first year at Cambridge - has not only won her place in the reserve team (the Tigers) for their game against Oxford this weekend, but also a seat on the bench for the senior team's game in the afternoon - a "double" that recalls our first season when Nikki (see right) would often play as a U14 in the morning and a U17 later in the day - things were a touch more relaxed in those days... (looking at this picture she'd have probably passed for U12 too if we'd had a team in the age group!)
Nikki has already played for the 1st XV, and if she gets onto the field on Saturday afternoon she will win her "Blue" in her very first year - a remarkable performance.
