Did anyone at the RFC check the weather forecast? There's no rain between now and Sunday anywhere in the UK other than a light shower in East Anglia. While I'm sure the condition of some piches will be questionable, did they really have to cancel the county festival nationwide? Surely, some regions could have easily gone ahead? It's difficult enough for girls to get good competitive fixtures during the year without the RFU taking such a blunt and inflexible approach to the county programme.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. The weather was much worse last weekend.I know player safety must come first but rugby is a winter sport, some regions could have gone ahead and wanted to but were overuled. Just shows that there is no flexibility from the rfu over girls rugby.
ReplyDeleteAnd disappointing as many club league matches have not been played in the first half of the season & there'll be even less girls rugby played when the Divisional programme starts in January.
