Shock! Horror! BBC acknowledge the existance of women's rugby!

The BBC have actually published a preview of the Six Nations! Or should that be the English Broadcasting Corporation, being as its just ever so slightly biased towards one of the four home nations? It is also more-or-less a straight lift from the RFUW's press release, which doesn't say very much for the BBC's journalistic standards (or knowledge of the subject, or both). There is a preview of the Welsh challenge as well, but its buried away on BBC Wales' pages. You'd have thought that a preview of the tournament that covered every nation would not be impossible. Still better than nothing!

I wonder if this means that the BBC have now changed its tune and will take the tournament seriously by, oh I don't know, publishing results and match reports of the games? Or giving women's rugby its own Internet page (like football and cricket get)?

Oink, flap, oink, flap...

  2. Indeed there is a good few pages in this months RugbyWorld magazine too. Together with the Team of the Month being awarded to a Womens Team. That particular piece is very good.
