Revenge for the Sabres
The icy and snow of early 2009, had prevented matches - and, to a large degree, training this year so it had been 12 long weeks since the last match for Letchworth U18s which had been on 7th December! Doubtless Suffolk Sabres have been similarly disrupted.
Unfortunately, the lack of match practice showed in the fine tuning of skills and moves which just didn't quite come off at Swaffham on Sunday in the way they were before Christmas. Where it definately didn't show was in the endeavour ... there is no doubt that both teams entered this game with tremendous determination and a mighty battle ensued. It was the sort of game that could have gone to either side with several attacks by each team being twarted just short - or even over - the try line.
In the end, Suffolk Sabres ran out deserved winners by 17 - 10 to avenge the 2 point defeat at Letchworth earlier in the season.
